If it’s not Paris it’s the iPhone

Every morning I bunker down at my desk with my cup of tea (or coffee on those especially rough mornings) and spend a good hour reading through the news from all over the world. So why, may I ask, is 70% of the news across all mediums, either about Paris Hilton or the iPhone this week?

For those of you living under a rock, Paris was released from jail and is being interviewed tonight on Larry King Live (she got a million bucks for it too). One of my colleagues said it best in response to People’s cover story headline for this Friday’s issue:

“It was her time in barsthat got her put behind pars.”

So the other news hog is the iPhone because it is being released (to the delight or horror of various people) this Friday. I personally stand by the New York Post’s overall position saying that while it is a technological marvel, it won’t be the best phone or even iPhone that is released this year. Advice? Wait for the updated versions, when they’ve worked out the details, quirks and kinks, and you have to get one.

Read the New York Time’s blog, Bits that covers all the major reviews.

Now, back to the real news PLEASE!
