“Global Warming” gets a new name

“Global Climate Disruption” is the new phrase for the passe term of “global warming” that some scientists such as Dr. John P. Holdren are pushing. Why? Because the current terminology just doesn’ cut it. Is the old phrase too chipper? Does it cover to many of the sins involved? Will people ever take the issue seriously with a name that sounds… well, like a vacation to most people. This New York Times article discusses the options, reasoning and perception of the language around this hot button environmental issue and questions how much marketing is really involved.
